Benchmark
The benchmark is a test to see what systems users will be running the game on. This gives us a better perspective of our user community and how to tailor the game to best fit their systems.
It runs a scene that is made with typical gameplay stress levels to emulate a level of the game. At the end of the test a log file is produced containing system info and stress results. No personal user data is collected during the test.
Running the Benchmark
Firstly, download the benchmark files from the link bellow. Extract the files and place them where ever you wish.
Open benchmark.blend (Blender 2.49) or benchmark_2.5.blend (Blender 2.5) Earlier versions of Blender are untested.
Run the benchmark by pressing P. Please run in full screen mode. For best results, please close all other applications.
Wait for the benchmark to end. DO NOT end the benchmark early. Ending the benchmark early won’t produce the log file.
When the benchmark has completed, check the blender console for the location and name of the log file.
Locate the log file and email it to us at benchmark@sintelgame.org
DO NOT copy and paste the data into the email, send the file as an attachment.
Requirements
To run the benchmark you will need a few things:
Blender 2.49 or Blender 2.5
If you are running 2.49 you will need Python 2.6
Notes
The benchmark will close when complete.
sintel_b.blend stores our sintel character and her logic, which is linked into benchmark.blend. It will only open in 2.5
The 2.49 version of the benchmark will display the sintel model as inverted. This is normal behavior.
Again, DO NOT copy and paste the data into the email, send the file as an attachment.
